Among the my best moments of my life were while in College, either in Mexico at UNAM or in the UK. I took my first steps into the worlds of content creation in England, while I was studying a master’s degree in production at Brunel University. And in engineering at UNAM

Arriving to the university campus I was struck by this Brutalist building, built in the 1960s.

Somehow I seemed to remember this view… Have I been here before?

Afterwards I recognized the place as the Mental institution where Orange Clockwork’s film was shot!

Brunel University, was founded in 1966, is named after the Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Originally part of Acton Technical College, it gained university status and became Brunel University in 1966.

The campus, situated in Uxbridge, West London, has since grown and evolved.

Throughout its development, Brunel has prioritized engineering, technology, and design education.

My tutor, Mr Gerald Griffin, was an advanced technologist who had developed Perspex acrylic (PMMA) aircraft cockpits. Mr. Griffin was a super innovative technologist, inventor of renewable plastic materials, who had started a pedagogical revolution using the magnetized plastic of video tapes for the first time in technological higher education.

He was a respected and beloved mentor and great inspirer of my ideas. For my part, and during my stay at Brunel, I began my first studies in video production.

Over the years, it expanded its academic offerings to include a broad range of disciplines, becoming a multidisciplinary institution.

Presently, Brunel University is recognized for its strong emphasis on research and innovation, particularly in areas like engineering, business, health, and social sciences. The university has maintained a commitment to providing a vibrant and diverse learning environment for its students, its commitment to academic excellence aligns with its roots in engineering and technology, making it a notable institution in the UK higher education landscape.
